Carpet Installation in Dubois, PA

By following these helpful considerations for before, after, and during your new carpet installation, you can ensure a smooth process in your home or business.

Before Carpet Installation

Remove all furniture, electronics, items, and wall hangings from the rooms and closet areas receiving new carpet. Since carpet cannot be installed over an existing surface, your current floors will need to be removed completely. Complete all painting and touch-ups prior to installation. Your subfloor must be completely flat, and any imperfections must be repaired. Once your subfloor has been professionally assessed, you are ready for new carpet.

During Carpet Installation

On the day of your carpet installation, an adult needs to be home to answer questions for the installation crew. Designate an area in the home for the workers to keep installation tools, keep carpet rolls before they are installed, and to cut carpet as needed. Keep all children and pets away from the rooms receiving new carpet and the worker’s area. Establish appropriate ventilation in the home as instructed by the installers.

After Carpet Installation

Once your new carpet is installed, it is important to wait the specified amount of time before walking on the new flooring and returning furniture to the rooms. Always return furniture by either lifting or using proper moving equipment with rollers to avoid snagging the carpet. We recommend using felt protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to reduce impact and crushing. When you vacuum your new carpet, you may experience the normal shedding for the first month afterward.
