Hardwood Care
With proper daily care and maintenance, as well as dealing with spills and stains effectively, you can keep your hardwood floors shining for decades.

Daily Care & Maintenance
The key to daily hardwood care and maintenance is removing as much dirt, debris, and pet dander from the wood surface as possible, before the particles become abrasive. Preventative measures include using mats to scrape footwear at all entranceways, using area rugs throughout the home, brushing pets regularly, and keeping pet nails trimmed. Sweep your hardwood with a soft bristle broom or dust-mop daily or as frequently as possible. Check with your hardwood manufacturer's warranty before investing in a robot vacuum cleaner.
Dealing With
Spills & Stains
When spills do occur on your hardwood, treat them as promptly as possible to prevent any moisture damage from occurring. Use paper towels and a spoon to gently lift any solid material, then begin blotting the liquid stain with a dry clean cloth or paper towels. Start from the perimeter of the spill and work towards the center. Use a gentle hardwood-specific cleaner to spot-treat as needed.
Consult your hardwood warranty before wet-mopping or using a Swiffer WetJet system. Use as little water as needed to clean your wood floors and ensure a dry surface in a reasonable amount of time afterward.
